Wow it's been a while!

Hi everyone who has given up on my blog I am back!
I didn't realise it has been so long since I posted on here. I was afraid this would happen when I started this. I guess I just don't think of myself as exciting.

So here is a recap of the last 4 months.

The third week in July was spent at our church camp working with a great group of kids! We always have a blast when we go out there!

August and most of September were quiet.

I have planned a trip to Walt Disney World with a few friends and family. What made this trip transpire? I am going to run a Half Marathon. Yep you read right. I only recently decided on this. At first I was just going to run a 5k race but after some well maybe a lot of encouragement from two of my cousins I signed up for the half marathon.

I am on week 3 of training and not doing well if I do say so myself. I keep being told that it will get easier but I am not so sure!

My little brother got married at the beginning of this month to a wonderful girl. I was honored to be part of the wedding party!

I am the last bridesmaid!

The happy couple!

Our beautiful flowers. I took these last two!

I have been taking more pictures and looking in to new cameras. Taking pictures I hope one day can become more than just a hobby but I have no idea how to start.

So I think that summs up the last few months. Hope you like the pictures I put in!

Spring on the Farm

It has been a while since I posted on this thing so I better catch up.
I had posted some winter pictures from around the farm and was going to post some of sprin. It seemed like it never got here.

It rained for most of May and June and it was cold. Everything sure is green now tho. It is making for a nice summer.

We also wound up with more litte friends this year. There were 4 in total but only ever got 3 to come out at one time.

So I will post again in the next few days about running my first 5k and finally getting pictures of lightning!!

A House Full of Rocks

About a month ago my roommates and I, fresh off of watching the Canadian Men win gold in curling at the 2010 Olympics decided that we should go watch the Women's World Curling Championsip since it was only two and a half hours away.

We looked at the games and picked where we wanted to sit and were very excited! Next thought: a hotel room. There has to be one room that would fit 4 of us in Swift Current right. Nope. So with tickets paid for and non refundable we began searching for a room for 1 night. There waws thoughts of driving back to Moose Jaw but that is a 2 hour drive and silly. We finally found a Bed and Breakfast that thankfully had one room left that fit 4 people!! Someone upstairs was looking out for us! Email sent to the B&B and we had our room, now the wait for March 21 and 22 to come around.

Ok enough back story.

Jump to March 21, 2010. We left Regina at 9:20 a whole 10 min early!! Stopped to see my mom where she works and were back on the road to Swift Current. The first draw we woulld be watching was at 1:30 so we made it to Swift with time for lunch! 4crazy Canadian girls getting ready to watch curling!! We were excited!

Canada's Jennifer Jones team played Latvia.
Ok so Latvia has not been curling long so it was kind of a blow out for Canada but Latvia played well.

We found our B&B and we slept in a barn that has been converted to rooms. So fun!!

The 7:30 draw came around and it was Canada vs China. It was a great game. All of the sudden my phone was going off with text messages. I opened it and read the first one from my brother: Are you waving a Canadian flag? I wrote back: Yes I am how do you know? Another text from my dad: We just saw you on TV. Ok so that's how my brother knew I was waiving a flag. So yours truly ended up on TSN after Canada made a beautiful shot and I was cheering!

We had a late night and then an early morning on Tuesday due to an 8:30 draw. One of my roommates and I decided to stay of all 3 draws on Tues. We came in 2 cars so one went back early and we stayed and left Swift Current at 10:30. We were home just before 1am.

We had a blast! The curling was great. We ment the Latvian team who are very nice

and one of my roommates got to meet and talk to the skip of the Scotland team. Lots of nice people watching the games and we made friends every where we went. Curling fans are great!!! We made lots of wonderful memories and yes I took lots of pictures!

Well until next time,

Wandering in the Snow

Well it has been just over a week since we returned from the Happiest Place on Earth aka Walt Disney World. With that return home it meant back to work back on the workout kick and snow.

I guess that is just a fact I am going to have to live with the rest of my life. I have no intentions at this time to leave the world of two seasons. Snow and no snow. I like the snow it is our own winter playground.

Growing up in Saskatchewan, Canada we have never had a winter when there was no snow (that I can remeber any way). There is something magical about all that white stuff all over the ground. I try to ignore the low temperatures that come with the snow. I sit on the second floor of our old farm house and look out the window. The sky is overcast today so the horizon of grey meets the white and it does look kind of bleak but still and peaceful. It is one of the few days there is no wind. The big tree outside my window is not moving and that is always a nice thing to see.

So you are probably wondering why I am rambling on about the snow and lack of wind right? Well I decided I have been cooped up at work for the week since returning home and I wanted to get out and walk around the farm for a bit. Thinking that if the sun peeked out I would take my camera and try to capture some of the beauty of the snow.

I put on my jacket, mitts and fake Ugg's and left the warmth of the house. I decided I would only walk places that wouldn't make the snow go over my boots (they are the tall ones). So I walked out our road and the pond looked nice so I walked over there and made it about 10 feet before my tall boots were not tall enough. Ok well I am here now so I might as well keep going. Well by the time I made it back to the road I had snow up to my knees and quickly my shins were starting to be really cold. Oh well I am a Canadian farm girl I can handle it so I wandered around a little more. I snapped about 30 pictures and then my Canadian farm girl attitude failed and I bee-lined it back to the house. My Wranglers wet from my knees to the top of my boots, shins starting to feel numb but my feet were toasty warm (always a good thing). The pictures were not bad. I love snow drifts and how they blow in around things and they sure blew in while we were away.

The old grain truck and the best vehicle I ever drove a 1980 Chevy Scottsdale 1/2 ton have no hope of moving before spring not that they have moved in 2 years but hey it could happen!

Well I think that is all my rambling thoughts for now,
B

The Last Day

Well as promised I am blogging from home.

We got home just before 2pm this afternoon.
But I will tell you about yesterday.

So the boys got Richard Petty Ride along experiences each for Christmas. So it was the day to do this. The boys were driven around the Walt Disney World Speedway at 145 mph. They loved it!! It was so fun seeing them get out of their cars. They were very happy!

After they were done we went to Magic Kingdom to catch the last few things we wanted to do. We walked around Tom Sawyers Island and then we went to the Haunted Mansion and then ran over to Pirates of the Caribbean. We had fast passes for Big Thunder so we did that. Had one last Dole Whip and then left the park. We had to take the monorail to the TTA as the ferry was still down BUT we got to the Contemporary and the monorail decided not to work to. The Contemporary staff had no idea what was going on so they were no help. We walked back to the TTA. We had to follow the monorail posts back to the TTA. It was quite an adventure.

We then drove to EPCOT and got a locker and then walked to DHS. We rode Rockin Roller coaster and were lucky enough to walk on that. We ran over to Tower of Terror and walked on that so we ducked back in to the ride and walked on it again! We had supper at Fairfax Fair and headed off for Toy Story Mania but it was a 60 min wait so we headed back to EPCOT but passed Star Tours and there was no one in the line so we ran on to it. We had been the only people in our car but at the last min a family of 5 came on but it was still fun!

Took the boat ride back to EPCOT and spent time there as it was extra magic hours. We rode Spaceship Earth and then went to Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Journey in to Imagination and then to Sorin` then off to our last ride Test Track.

We went back to the Caribbean Beach Resort and packed up and went to bed as wake up call was 3:30am.

We got to the airport this morning at about 4:20 and flew home.
The connection times were tight and we had to run thru the Minneapolis airport again but we made it home!

We had a surprise at the airport. My cousin Brett was there with Kevin`s nieces Lauren and Ella. I came out the doors and had 2 little girls run full out at me! it was great!!!

When we got home the boys started moving snow as there had been a huge blizzard the night we left. There is a ton of snow.

Well I think that is it for my blogging for this trip. Hopefully I will think of something to write while waiting for another trip to pop up.

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed it!

A Morning Spent Behind the Scenes

Well HI everyone how is your day going?

We had another wonderful and warm day here. Are you wondering what we were doing? I hope so or I will be writing this for nothing ha ha!!

This morning we left the hotel at 7:45 am yes that is right we got up that early on our holidays. Crazy I know but so worth it!!

We had to be at the Magic Kingdom by 8:30 this morning to be at City Hall for the start of the Keys to the Kingdom tour. It is a 6 hour tour that gives you the ins and outs of the Magic Kingdom. We spent time walking around Main Street USA with out tour guide Anna. She was so good! We rode The Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion. We walked around back stage and I have been sworn to secrecy about what we saw back there. You will have to do the tour if you want to know!

After our tour was over we rode the Liberty Belle, it is an old paddle wheel boat. It was something I have always wanted to do but something always seemed to happen to the boat or we ran out of time. Then we did a few more things at the MK and decided to go to Disney Hollywood Studios for their night time fireworks show Fantasmic. It is a neat show.

We came back to the hotel and went in the hot tub for a bit and now back in the room.
It wasn't a stressful day today but I am tired.

Tomorrow is our last day here. We are planning to hit all 4 parks and the boys have their NASCAR ride alongs tomorrow. It will be a busy and late day tomorrow.

There is not much for pictures today as there are no cameras allowed on the tour but I will post a few of the ones we took after.

A Day in the Wild.

Hello everyone!

Well I slept in today. That meant no breakfast for me. We left for Animal Kingdom at 9:30. The first ride we went on was the Kilimonjaro Safari. We saw so many animals. There were 3 giraff's that walked right in front of our Truck and two more standing right beside us. That ride is so cool!

Next was Expadition Everest. It is a roller coaster ride! I had never been on it before. The last time I was here it was just being built. It was so fun! Kevin doesn't like roller coasters but he was a trooper and came on it with us! He did great and thought it was ok.

We saw the Festival of the Lion King. It is amazing what those actors and tumblers can do. Kevin even thought it was good.

Lunch was at Pizzafari. Nothing to exciting. We had pizza and that was about it.
It was off to ride the Dino-Rama rides.

We left Animal Kingdom and went to the Florida Mall. I had to go to a store there and then we were off to one of the other outlet malls.

Supper was at Golden Corral. Wow did I eat to much.

We finished off the night at the Prime Outlet mall and are now back at the hotel.

No hot tub for me tonight as we are getting up at 7:00 am to be at the Magic Kingdom by 8:15 for the Key to the Kingdom tour. It is a tour of behind the scenes at the Magic Kingdom. I am looking forward to this!!!

Well I think that is all for tonight.
I will be updating the drop shots photos tonight to.
